Ingredients
  • 94 gram packet of jelly crystals (jello)
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 375 ml can of evaporated milk, Chilled until very cold
Instructions
  1. Dissolve jelly crystals in boiling water. Cool till the consistency of egg white, it must not be set. Beat evaporated milk until thich and creamy. Add in cooled jelly and continue beating until thick and well combined.
  2. Pour into serving a dish or indiviual bowls. Chill until firm.
  3. Serves 6

Flummery – 3 Ingredient Dessert

I have to confess as I have gotten older I have gotton lazier with my cooking. I look for simple ingredients, less ingredients, frugal coooking, and most of all easy.

This dessert falls right in that catorgory. It is cheap, total cost is $4.56 for all the ingrediants. It can be even cheaper if you buy home brand jelly and evaporated milk when on special.
It is easy to make. Mix the jelly (jello) with the water, leave to cool, whip the evaporated milk,  The milk must be very well chilled.

Add in the jelly. It needs to be like the feel of egg whites. But not set and it must be cool.
Mix the two toghether and then pour into a dish and refrigerate. How easy is that?

So what is jelly cystals? also known as jello ofr flavorured gelatine. Basically a flavorless food derived from collagen obtained from various animal raw materials. Eg horses hoooves, cow horns and so on.

The spoon should be able to stand up in it. It is a lovely soft foam and very easy to eat, Ideal for summer or any party. Ok to be honest anytime.

    Yes I remember this from childhood, yes so yummy… will have to give it ago again!
    Yes very much like you cooking needs to be cheap, less ingredients…. we are retried so have to be very careful with the money….. treats now and without breaking the bank!
